Jaisalmer: At a time when the entire country will be ushering in the New Year with their families and friends, Border Security Force jawans (both men and women) will be guarding the international border away from their loved ones. On this occasion BSF commandant and senior officers reached the border and welcomed 2018 by cutting a cake with the jawans.
The Rajasthan Frontier headquarters made special arrangements to celebrate New year with the jawans so that they do not feel lonely. The senior officers came with sweets and lights for the jawans.
Confirming this BSF DIG Ravi Gandhi said BSF headquarters has sent wishes to all officers and jawans. As guarding borders is the top most duty and all jawans cannot be sent on leave to celebrate New Year therefore, special arrangements have been made to celebrate at the border.
Gandhi added that there is thick fog in Bikaner, Ganganagar and Jaisalmer leading to poor visibility. Under such conditions the jawans have to guard the border with utmost vigilance.
On the other hand women in BSF said they do feel homesick but at the same time they want their countrymen to celebrate New Year without any worries.
