JAIPUR: A mob of local residents in ‘s area set a bus on fire after it rammed into a bike and injured one youth. The people reacting to the death went on rampage as they pelted stones at police and raised slogans against the district administration.
The police in large numbers was deployed to control the violent protests. Cops resorted to lathicharge and hurled tear gas shells to disperse the crowd that had gone on rampage.
The people alleged that driver of the bus was drunk and hit into the bike. The mob also thrashed the driver and cops had to intervene to save the driver. The senior police officials were rushed to the spot to contain the protests. Cops said that a case has been filed against the driver and people who damaged the public property. The situation was brought under control after cops from the reserve police line were sent to the tension hit area.
