Crystal Palace snaps Man City winning streak

Manchester City‘s incredible 20-match unbeaten streak was nearly snapped Sunday at Selhurst Park, as Crystal Palace had a golden opportunity to hand the Premier League leaders their first loss of the season in stoppage time.

A foul by Raheem Sterling on Wilfried Zaha in the penalty area resulted in a penalty kick for Luka Milivojevic – but the Serbian struck a weak penalty low and to the middle of the goal that was saved by Ederson. If Manchester City do go on to become the new Invincibles, this could be remembered as the biggest moment of the season.

Crystal Palace did manage to end Manchester City‘s run of 18 consecutive wins, but missing out on all three points could be crucial in the late-season race to stay afloat. Crystal Palace now sits in 17th in the Premier League table, just one point out of the relegation zone.

The match ended in controversy, as Kevin De Bruyne was stretchered off the pitch after Jason Puncheon slid into De Bruyne for a wildly dangerous tackle.
