Mount Vernon cop car involved in crash

A Mount Vernon police car was involved in a crash around 9:15 a.m. on Sunday.

Two damaged vehicles, including the city police vehicle and a Toyota Camry with Georgia license plates, collided on S. Columbus Avenue near Washington Street. An ambulance was also on the scene around 10 a.m.

A police officer, who was responding to a call at the time of the crash, sustained minor injuries, according to Maria Donovan, a city spokeswoman.
