Premier John Horgan has indicated his government will not shy away from the many pressing issues in the province with a statement in recognition of the first day of 2018.
“The new year brings new beginnings and new opportunities. It is a chance to , and to resolve ourselves to overcome obstacles in the year to come,” Horgan said.
“From addressing housing affordability to tackling the , and the ongoing recovery from last year’s , we have no shortage of important work to do in the coming year.
“On New Year’s Day we are given the opportunity to think about where we are and where we have to go. It is a day to consider the path ahead and to set our minds to meet our goals.
“In 2018, we will be working hard to create a strong, sustainable economy that benefits everyone, to make life more affordable for families and to improve the services people rely on.
“On behalf of the government of British Columbia, I wish you a safe, healthy and happy new year with many more to come.”
