Thick fog affects flight operations

JAIPUR: Dense fog at New Delhi airport crippled flight operations in Jaipur to return fares to passengers as Delhi-bound flights remained affected on Sunday.
According to the Met department, Sikar‘s region remained coldest at 0.5 degrees Celsius, while Mount Abu shivered at 3 degrees Celsius.

Met department officials said that shallow to moderate fog is likely to occur along with cold wave condition at isolated places in northern parts of the state.

In Jaipur, the minimum temperature was recorded at 9.3 degrees Celsius. The has already set up rain baseras (night shelters) across the state, especially near crowded places such as hospitals, railway station and bus stands.

However, the city has not witnessed any unprecedented fall in temperature yet but it is witnessing average cold.

Met department officials said that the city was relatively warmer in comparison to other districts such as Sriganganagar, Pilani and Churu, which recorded 3.1 degrees, 3.5 degrees and 3.5 degrees Celsius, respectively.

The western parts of the state in comparison to its were relatively warmer. Barmer recorded 11.2, Jaisalmer and Jodhpur recorded 9.5 degrees Celcius, respectively. Kota and Ajmer shivered at 9.8 degrees Celsius.
